Discover which Home Improvement Rebate is Best for You
Working with a Home Energy Contractor will Dramatically Maximize Energy Efficiency
Unlike typical home renovations such as kitchens and bathrooms, home energy retrofits provide cost savings year after year. If your home suffers from air leakage or underperforming insulation, you’re an ideal candidate for energy upgrades, and with a home improvement rebate to match. Great Northern Insulation can provide it all – from air sealing, to window retrofits, to insulation.
Home Energy Rebates from Union Gas
With Union Gas, the Home Reno Rebate includes upgrades to such things as home insulation, air sealing, and even windows. Customers of Union Gas can apply for up to $5,000 in rebates. You must work with a participating Registered Energy Advisor who will complete a pre-reno Energy Assessment, and advise on specific upgrades. When work is complete, a post-reno assessment is required.
Home Energy Rebates from Enbridge Gas
Enbridge Gas offers a Home Energy Conservation Program (up to $5000 in rebates) when you complete two energy upgrades from a prescribed list. Your Energy Advisor can help identify the most cost-effective upgrades, including retrofits like basement insulation, attic insulation, air sealing, and exterior wall insulation. The home improvement rebate will reflect the work done. You must live in the Enbridge Gas service area to be eligible for this rebate.
Home Energy Incentives from the City of Toronto
The Home Energy Loan Program allows Toronto homeowners to get low-interest loans for the cost of home energy upgrades (up to $75,000). You can choose to retrofit windows, install new insulation in the basement or attic, or improve air sealing throughout the home. HELP allows homeowners to pay back their loans over time, while accessing other home energy rebates that are offered
Home Energy Incentives from CMHC Green Home
Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation offers homeowners a partial refund on mortgage loan insurance. You’re eligible when you make energy-efficient improvements to your home. Start the work with a home assessment from an NRCan Energy Advisor (Natural Resources Canada) who will measure your home’s energy efficiency and recommend the best upgrades for your situation.
Working with an NRCan Registered Energy Advisor
For the most part, every home improvement rebate for home energy upgrades requires a home assessment from a Registered Energy Advisor. The home assessment (pre-reno and post-reno) assesses your home’s airtightness; insulation levels in the basement and attic; and the efficiency of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. The pre-reno assessment sets the stage for upgrades.
At Great Northern Insulation, We’ll Recommend the Best Rebate
Great Northern Insulation makes your energy upgrades simple and easy. We recommend which home improvement rebate (for energy upgrades) will deliver the best return-on-investment over the long run when it comes to insulation and air sealing, and we always provide a FREE in home evaluation to get things moving this winter.
The Home Reno Rebate from Union Gas and the Home Energy Conservation Program from Enbridge Gas both offer rebates for energy retrofits that will improve home energy efficiency. They will also enhance home energy efficiency and therefore lower utility bills throughout the year. You must contract a Registered Energy Advisor and undertake at least two required upgrades. We recommend the experts from Barrier Sciences Group.
The Home Energy Loan Program, available through the City of Toronto, helps homeowners to enhance home energy efficiency. With affordable financing terms, HELP can ease the cost of such upgrades as insulation and air sealing, allowing for less energy usage and far lower utility bills.
In Ontario, the Investment in Affordable Housing provides rebates to building owners who make insulation upgrades. Building owners apply for rebates when installing high performance attic insulation and ensuring minimum R-Values of R40 or greater throughout the installation space.
Through Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, the Green Home Program offers you up to 25% in the form of a premium refund. The more home energy improvements you decide to make, the higher the refund. A Registered Energy Advisor does a pre-reno and post-reno assessment.
The Province of Ontario has an AffordAbility Fund to help electricity customers who might be ineligible for lower-income programs. The fund is offered by local electrical utilities to help lower electricity usage and reduce electric bills. Your net income and energy bill will gauge eligibility.

We offer 0% financing with no money down for 12 months on approved credit. We also have multiple financing options that are bound to suit your needs. Our financing is always open-ended, so you are free to pay off your amount whenever you want to. You can even pay off some of your financed amount with rebates that you receive!
Working with Great Northern Insulation to Improve Energy Efficiency
Today, most homeowners are increasingly interested in improving home energy efficiency. In addition to home comfort, energy upgrades and retrofits provide substantial savings on annual utility bills. The idea of a home improvement rebate (on various energy upgrades) allows every homeowner to offset the upfront cost of improvements, making the upgrades more affordable.
With home energy upgrades, a “quick-fix” does not necessarily provide long-term results. Neither does a DIY approach with complex retrofits like insulation, air sealing, and ventilation, without the right knowledge. At Great Northern Insulation, we provide a professional approach, with quality products and quality installations.
We’ll recommend which home energy retrofit will best suit your needs, and which upgrade will deliver the best results for the long term. We can also suggest which of the home energy rebates is most profitable, depending on the scope of work required, and the allotted project budget.
When you choose to work with Great Northern Insulation, you’re assured of complete customer satisfaction from start to finish, regardless of the size of the job.
