Will I still receive my GreenON Rebates if I had work done by a participating contractor?
If you have already signed a quote with us or another GreenON participating contractor on or before June 19, 2018, and will have your insulation installed by August 31, 2018, you are still eligible to receive GreenON Rebates. Contractors have until September 30, 2018 to submit the rebate application to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).
Can I still apply for rebates through the GreenON Rebates program?
Unfortunately, you are no longer able to apply for any of the GreenON rebates if you have not signed a quote issued by a participating contractor on or before June 19, 2018. However, you are still eligible if you have a signed quote by June 19, 2018, and you had your insulation installed, or will have your insulation installed, by August 31, 2018. In this case, the contractor has until September 30, 2018 to submit the rebate application to the IESO.
Can I still get GreenON Rebates for windows?
Unfortunately, GreenON Rebates for windows has also closed as of June 19, 2018. However, windows are still eligible under the Union Gas Home Reno Rebate and Enbridge Home Energy Conservation programs. Rebates for heating systems and insulation are also available under these programs.

Are there other rebate programs like the GreenON Rebates program?
Fortunately, there are two well known alternatives that have been in place before the GreenON Rebates programs. Each of them offers very similar rebates to GreenON, but there is one key difference: Each requires an energy evaluation before and after the work has been completed. There is a tremendous benefit to having this evaluation performed because it impacts the health and comfort of yourself, your family and your home.
What is an energy evaluation?
On the surface, an energy evaluation tells you how much energy your home is consuming, and how it is consuming it. You will receive several reports, including an EnerGuide Rating, which give you detailed information specific to your home. It also outlines your best plan of action to make your home more comfortable by decreasing its energy consumption. This information is valuable, and can help you pinpoint exactly where you should be making your upgrades to get the most money through rebates now – and save the most money later. The final reports you receive can be used to increase the resale value of your home because it shows potential buyers how they can expect the home to behave.
However, your home is a system. Your furnace, ventilation and insulation work together to create your home environment – and in turn, affect your health and comfort. By adding insulation, replacing a furnace, or installing new windows, you can dramatically alter the way your home performs as a system. Having an energy evaluation performed by an energy advisor helps you avoid these mishaps, and lets you continue with your retrofits with peace of mind for yourself, your family, and your home.
Energy evaluations for these programs are performed by a Registered Energy Advisor. Certification is regulated through Natural Resources Canada to make sure energy advisors are able to provide reliable and consistent results. Each program has a separate list of participating energy advisors.
You also receive $600 for the energy evaluations in both of the rebate programs.
